Hi Lindsey. At my campus, mentoring is used in many different ways. However, we have not brought in community members to assist / mentor students in need - that is such a great idea! I'm interested in hearing the details of how you run the mentoring program, get students involved / committed to participating, and of course the results of how it helps the student succeed. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are supporting these students that may have not real support system at home. I am with Heather. I like that you are drawing on the community to help mentor and tutor these students. Great idea! Good luck with your project!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of promoting the program to the target/future students. Have you thought about asking the current students why they enjoy the program or comments of how the program has helped them with their studies or otherwise?
